Global Interconnect is the company which is worldwide provider of custom engineering products like -  cable assemblies, connectors, cable modems, components etc. This company is also well renowned in delivering the medicare products like - electrosurgical tools, patient monitoring devices and their products have zero failure requirements.

Why ERP software is needed in GII -

The major problem was to implement the ERP software in global interconnect system that when their implemented product came out as a finished product, the manual calculations had to be done which had prone to the error and took a significant amount of time.

Another major operations was for the information system. They implemented two information system. One was for the accounting handling operations and another was to perform inventory management operations like - stock handling, purchase order and quantity and billing system etc. The inspection staff had to go through to two alternative systems to check the the complete overview of the process and functionality which was again complex and time consuming.

The incoming purchase receipts were also burdensome because they were also creating the problem for the check out process and go to accounting process after a long error. The whole process was handled by the manual interruption so that the error possibilities were high.

The company did not want to outsource the process because it could increase the complexity and could also incur extra cost to the company. Also their MRP system had also reached to its limits which was not good for a company like GII to grow with their expanding supply chain management system.

This all problems led to GII to implement for the ERP software.
